The Orange Days

If life is a thread of memories, who do we become once that thread is broken? The Orange Days came about from a desire to explore the gradations of tragedy that are caused by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

There are many nuances between the different cognitive disorders and the varying impact they have on families and communities. The Orange Days is not intended as a pure and scientifically accurate depiction of the disease, rather an exploration of fragmented memory. It’s a love letter honoring memories, what they hold, and those who lose them—as well as surrounding folks affected by that loss.

In our story, Elena musters the strength to trust the unknown, as I hope we can all do today and everyday of our lives, even when we don’t realize it.

This piece is dedicated to Alice and Eddie Peluffo.
